This Gazebo was scratch built for our customer from Mahogany, and Batu. All of the deck and roof trusses are the Mahogany, specifically a sub-species called Meranti Bukit. The underside of the roof, 1 x5 tongue and groove, is another Mahogany sub species called Batu. This was a very interesting and challenging project to undertake but, rewarding in the end. These hardwood species will last far longer than a cedar would and some of the structural components would have been impossible with Cedar without going to very large and atheistically unappealing sizes for this design.
