Azek decking in “Fawn” and Alumarail in brown

Here is a great example of using Azek decking in a difficult application. We were brought in to set right a failed installation of a “big box store” brand composite decking on this massive 3000 square foot deck.  After the failure the homeowner wanted  an experienced deck contractor to take the helm. The previous decking was installed incorrectly and was of a lessor quality to begin with. Thermal expansion of the boards coupled with the long runs on the deck literally ripped it from the side of the house where the decking from the front and side decks met. Quite the conundrum indeed. We recommended the exceptionally reliable Azek decking, to rehabilitate this deck. Azek is a cellular PVC product. The decking was fastened with exact color match stainless steel screws from Headcote.  Azek decking is a very dimensionally stable material as are all cellular PVC products. This attribute makes it perfect for the 100 foot runs of decking on the long side of the home. Any composite can be installed like this using the proper techniques, but Azek decking is particularly suited for this application. We were even able to leave no gap on the butt joints. This is something you cannot do with a conventional composite board. To compliment the ease of maintenance and clean appearance of the Azek we specified our best aluminum extrusion rail, Alumarail in “Brown”. The Alumarail “Brown” is actually a little more like graphite in it’s appearance. We have found that it tends to look cleaner than a jet black which is much like a black car… Alumarail is a commercially rated product and is the strongest rail system we carry.
